About

My legal practice focuses on Family and Divorce Law. This includes resolving issues affecting individuals who are separating or entering new relationships. Some of the more common issues I assist with include divorce, parenting, support, division of property, prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, and protection orders. I specialize in separations with high-conflict parenting, and complex personal, business, and farm asset divisions.  I am uniquely suited to addressing separations that involve corporate interests due to my background in finance and accounting.

My goal in my practice is to help individuals transition through what can be a very stressful period of their life. To do this, I endeavour to provide clear and concise legal advice so that clients know their legal position and the legal options available for resolving their matters.

I prioritize negotiation and out-of-court resolution as it is more likely to result in an equitable and efficient resolution than that provided through litigation. However, if no reasonable resolution can be reached, I am prepared to litigate in court to advance the needs of you and your family.

I work diligently to remain current on changes in the law by regularly attending legal education courses, The Canadian Bar Association seminars, and by being engaged with legal research centers. These efforts allow me to provide the best possible services to my clients. I also endeavour to provide access to justice by volunteering with programs such as Edmonton Community Legal Center, acting as a Family Law Sessional Instructor with Grant MacEwan University, and by offering limited-scope legal services and legal coaching.
